2012-12-17qxl: save qemu_create_displaysurface_from resultGerd Hoffmann1-5/+6

2012-11-01console: untangle gfx & txt updatesGerd Hoffmann1-5/+5
Stop abusing displaysurface fields for text mode displays. (bpp = 0, width = cols, height = lines). Add flags to displaystate indicating whenever text mode display (curses) or gfx mode displays (sdl, vnc, ...) are present. Add separate displaychangelistener callbacks for text / gfx mode resize & updates. This allows to enable gfx and txt diplays at the same time and also paves the way for more cleanups in the future. 2012-11-01console: move set_mouse + cursor_define callbacksGerd Hoffmann1-1/+1
When adding DisplayChangeListeners the set_mouse and cursor_define callbacks have been left in DisplayState for some reason. Fix it. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>
2012-10-08qxl: always update displaysurface on resizeGerd Hoffmann1-4/+0
Don't try to be clever and skip displaysurface reinitialization in case the size hasn't changed. Other parameters might have changed nevertheless, for example depth or stride, resulting in rendering being broken then. Trigger: boot linux guest with vesafb, start X11, make sure both vesafb and X11 use the display same resolution. Then watch X11 screen being upside down. 2012-04-18qxl-render: fix broken vnc+spice since commit f934493Alon Levy1-0/+1
Notify any listeners such as vnc that the displaysurface has been changed, otherwise they will segfault when first accessing the freed old displaysurface data. Signed-off-by: Alon Levy <alevy@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

2012-02-28qxl: properly handle upright and non-shared surfacesGerd Hoffmann1-7/+13
Although qxl creates a shared displaysurface when the qxl surface is upright and doesn't need to be flipped there is no guarantee that the surface doesn't become unshared for some reason. Rename qxl_flip to qxl_blit and fix it to handle both flip and non-flip cases. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>
2012-02-27qxl: make qxl_render_update asyncAlon Levy1-27/+69
RHBZ# 747011 Removes the last user of QXL_SYNC when using update drivers that use the _ASYNC io ports. The last user is qxl_render_update, it is called both by qxl_hw_update which is the vga_hw_update_ptr passed to graphic_console_init, and by qxl_hw_screen_dump. At the same time the QXLRect area being passed to the red_worker thread is passed as a copy, as part of the QXLCookie. The implementation uses interface_update_area_complete with a bh to make sure dpy_update and qxl_flip are called from the io thread, otherwise the vga->ds->surface.data can change under our feet. With this patch sdl+spice works fine. But spice by itself doesn't produce the expected screendumps unless repeated a few times, due to ppm_save being called before update_area (rendering done in spice server thread) having a chance to complete. Fixed by next patch, but see commit message for problem introduced by it. Signed-off-by: Alon Levy <alevy@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

2012-02-27qxl: remove flippedAlon Levy1-36/+30
Tested on linux and windows guests. For negative stride, qxl_flip copies directly to vga->ds->surface->data, for positive it's reallocated to share qxl->guest_primary.data Signed-off-by: Alon Levy <alevy@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>
2012-02-21qxl: don't render stuff when the vm is stopped.Gerd Hoffmann1-7/+5
This patch fixes the local qxl renderer to not kick spice-server in case the vm is stopped. First it is largely pointless because we ask spice-server to process all not-yet processed commands when the vm is stopped, so there isn't much do do anyway. Second we avoid triggering an assert in spice-server. The patch makes sure we still honor redraw requests, even if we don't ask spice-server for updates. This is needed to handle displaysurface changes with a stopped vm correctly. With this patch applied it is possible to take screen shots (via screendump monitor command) from a qxl gpu even in case the guest is stopped. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

2011-11-01qxl: make sure we continue to run with a shared bufferGerd Hoffmann1-1/+12
The qxl renderer works only with a shared displaysurface. So better make sure we actually have one and restore it when needed. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>
2011-11-01qxl: stride fixupGerd Hoffmann1-11/+12
spice uses negative stride value to signal the bitmap is upside down. The qxl renderer (used for scl, vnc and screenshots) wants a positive value because it is easier to work with. The positive value is then stored in the very same variable, which has the drawback that the upside-down test works only once. Fix by using two variables. 2011-08-08vga: convert vga and its derivatives to the memory APIAvi Kivity1-1/+1
Convert all vga memory to the memory API. Note we need to fall back to get_system_memory(), since the various buses don't pass the vga window as a memory region. We no longer need to sync the dirty bitmap of the cirrus mapped memory banks, since the memory API takes care of that for us. 2011-08-03qxl: async io support using new spice apiAlon Levy1-1/+1
Some of the QXL port i/o commands are waiting for the spice server to complete certain actions. Add async versions for these commands, so we don't block the vcpu while the spice server processses the command. Instead the qxl device will raise an IRQ when done. The async command processing relies on an added QXLInterface::async_complete and added QXLWorker::*_async additions, in spice server qxl >= 3.1 Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Alon Levy <alevy@redhat.com>

2011-05-03spice: don't call displaystate callbacks from spice server context.Gerd Hoffmann1-13/+12

2010-12-09spice: add qxl deviceGerd Hoffmann1-0/+226
qxl is a paravirtual graphics card. The qxl device is the bridge between the guest and the spice server (aka libspice-server). The spice server will send the rendering commands to the spice client, which will actually render them. The spice server is also able to render locally, which is done in case the guest wants read something from video memory. Local rendering is also used to support display over vnc and sdl. qxl is activated using "-vga qxl". qxl supports multihead, additional cards can be added via '-device qxl".
