Instead, files in hw/dataplane are referenced with the relative path. We know they are not going to move to include/, and they are the only include files that are in subdirectories _and_ move. This patch makes default boot order machine specific instead of set globally. The default boot order can be set per machine in QEMUMachine boot_order. This also allows a machine to receive a NULL boot order when -boot isn't used and take an appropriate action accordingly. This helps machine boots from the devices as set in guest's non-volatile memory location in case no boot order is provided by the user. Since 39bffca2030950ef6efe57c2fac8327a45ae1015 (qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object Model), TypeInfo as used in the common, non-iterative pattern is no longer amended with information and should therefore be const. Fix the documented QOM examples: sed -i 's/static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' include/qom/object.h Since frequently the wrong examples are being copied by contributors of new devices, fix all types in the tree: sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*.c sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*/*.c This also avoids to piggy-back these changes onto real functional changes or other refactorings. Move public headers to include/net, and leave private headers in net/. Put the virtio headers in include/net/tap.h, removing the multiple copies that existed. 2012-12-11Support default block interfaces per QEMUMachineChristian Borntraeger1-2/+2
There are QEMUMachines that have neither IF_IDE nor IF_SCSI as a default/standard interface to their block devices / drives. Therefore, this patch introduces a new field default_block_type per QEMUMachine struct. The prior use_scsi field becomes thereby obsolete and is replaced through .default_block_type = IF_SCSI. This patch also changes the default for s390x to IF_VIRTIO and removes an early hack that converts IF_IDE drives. Other parties have already claimed interest (e.g. IF_SD for exynos) To create a sane default, for machines that dont specify a default_block_type, this patch makes IF_IDE = 0 and IF_NONE = 1. I checked all users of IF_NONE (blockdev.c and ww/device-hotplug.c) as well as IF_IDE and it seems that it is ok to change the defines - in other words, I found no obvious (to me) assumption in the code regarding IF_NONE==0. IF_NONE is only set if there is an explicit if=none. Without if=* the interface becomes IF_DEFAULT. I would suggest to have some additional care, e.g. by letting this patch sit some days in the block tree. When -usb option is used, global varible usb_enabled is set. And all the plaform will create one USB controller according to this variable. In fact, global varibles make code hard to read. So this patch is to remove global variable usb_enabled and add USB option in machine options. All the plaforms will get USB option value from machine options. USB option of machine options will be set either by: * -usb * -machine type=pseries,usb=on Both these ways can work now. They both set USB option in machine options. target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). This should help us to: - More easily add or remove machine initialization arguments without having to change every single machine init function; - More easily make mechanical changes involving the machine init functions in the future; - Let machine initialization forward the init arguments to other functions more easily. This change was half-mechanical process: first the struct was added with the local ram_size, boot_device, kernel_*, initrd_*, and cpu_model local variable initialization to all functions. 2012-02-03qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori1-7/+9
This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. Currently creating a memory region automatically registers it for live migration. This differs from other state (which is enumerated in a VMStateDescription structure) and ties the live migration code into the memory core. Decouple the two by introducing a separate API, vmstate_register_ram(), for registering a RAM block for migration. This driver emulates the ARM AACI interface (PL041) connected to a LM4549 codec. It enables audio playback for the Versatile/PB platform. Limitations: - Supports only a playback on one channel (Versatile/Vexpress) - Supports only one TX FIFO in compact-mode or non-compact mode. - Supports playback of 12, 16, 18 and 20 bits samples. - Record is not supported. - The PL041 is hardwired to a LM4549 codec. On the Versatile PB, PL110 graphics adaptor only natively supports 5551 pixel format; an external mux swaps bits around to allow RGB565 and BGR565, under the control of bits [1:0] in the SYS_CLCD system register. Implement these SYS_CLCD register bits, and use a gpio line to feed them out of the system register model, across the versatilepb board and into the pl110 so we can select the right format. Correct the condition determining whether we instantiate the onboard NIC or a PCI card NIC on VersatilePB and Realview boards. This was broken in two ways: (1) if the user asked for two default NICs ("-net nic -net nic") we would crash trying to strcmp() a NULL pointer (2) if the user asked for two NICs explicitly of the same model as the onboard NIC (eg "-net nic,model=smc91c111 -net nic,model=smc91c111") we would try to instantiate two onboard NICs at the same address. As stated before, devices can be little, big or native endian. The target endianness is not of their concern, so we need to push things down a level. This patch adds a parameter to cpu_register_io_memory that allows a device to choose its endianness. For now, all devices simply choose native endian, because that's the same behavior as before. Monitor command "pci_add ADDR nic model=MODEL" uses pci_nic_init() to create the NIC. When MODEL is unknown or "?", this prints to stderr and terminates the program. Change pci_nic_init() not to treat "?" specially, and to return NULL on failure. Switch uses during startup to new convenience wrapper pci_nic_init_nofail(), which behaves just like pci_nic_init() used to do. Bonus bug fix: we now check for qdev_init() failing there.
