2014-06-23vl: allow other threads to do qemu_system_vmstop_requestPaolo Bonzini1-1/+1
There patch protects vmstop_requested with a lock and introduces qemu_system_vmstop_request_prepare. Together with the new call to qemu_vmstop_requested in vm_start, qemu_system_vmstop_request_prepare avoids a race where the VM could remain stopped even though the iostatus of a block device has already been set (for example). qemu_system_vmstop_request_prepare however also lets the caller thread delay observation of the state change until it has itself communicated that change to the user. This delay avoids any possibility of a wrong reordering of the BLOCK_IO_ERROR event and the subsequent STOP event. 2014-06-05softmmu: introduce cpu_ldst.hPaolo Bonzini1-1/+1
This will collect all load and store helpers soon. For now it is just a replacement for softmmu_exec.h, which this patch stops including directly, but we also include it where this will be necessary in order to simplify the next patch. 2014-06-05softmmu: commonize helper definitionsPaolo Bonzini1-10/+0
They do not need to be in op_helper.c. Because cputlb.c now includes softmmu_template.h twice for each size, io_readX must be elided the second time through. Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2014-05-28tcg: Invert the inclusion of helper.hRichard Henderson1-1/+1
Rather than include helper.h with N values of GEN_HELPER, include a secondary file that sets up the macros to include helper.h. This minimizes the files that must be rebuilt when changing the macros for file N. Reviewed-by: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net>

2014-03-13cpu: Turn cpu_handle_mmu_fault() into a CPUClass hookAndreas Färber1-1/+2
Note that while such functions may exist both for *-user and softmmu, only *-user uses the CPUState hook, while softmmu reuses the prototype for calling it directly. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2014-02-04target-lm32: stop VM on illegal or unknown instructionMichael Walle1-0/+17
Instead of translating the instruction to a no-op, pause the VM and display a message to the user. As a side effect, this also works for instructions where the operands are only known at runtime. Signed-off-by: Michael Walle <michael@walle.cc>
2014-02-04target-lm32: add breakpoint/watchpoint supportMichael Walle1-1/+57
This patch adds in-target breakpoint and watchpoint support. Signed-off-by: Michael Walle <michael@walle.cc>
2013-09-02target: Include softmmu_exec.h where forgottenRichard Henderson1-0/+2
Several targets forgot to include softmmu_exec.h, which would break them with a header cleanup to follow. Reviewed-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net> Signed-off-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net>

2013-04-08hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini1-2/+2
Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. 2013-03-12cpu: Move halted and interrupt_request fields to CPUStateAndreas Färber1-1/+3
Both fields are used in VMState, thus need to be moved together. Explicitly zero them on reset since they were located before breakpoints. Pass PowerPCCPU to kvmppc_handle_halt(). Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>

2011-07-30exec.h cleanupBlue Swirl1-1/+2
Move softmmu_exec.h include directives from target-*/exec.h to target-*/op_helper.c. Move also various other stuff only used in op_helper.c there. Define global env in dyngen-exec.h. For i386, move wrappers for segment and FPU helpers from user-exec.c to op_helper.c. Implement raise_exception_err_env() to handle dynamic CPUState. Move the function declarations to cpu.h since they can be used outside of op_helper.c context. LM32, s390x, UniCore32: remove unused cpu_halted(), regs_to_env() and env_to_regs(). ARM: make raise_exception() static. Convert #include "exec.h" to #include "cpu.h" #include "dyngen-exec.h" and remove now unused target-*/exec.h. Signed-off-by: Blue Swirl <blauwirbel@gmail.com>
