2015-07-09cpu: Change cpu_exec_init() arg to cpu, not envPeter Crosthwaite1-1/+1
The callers (most of them in target-foo/cpu.c) to this function all have the cpu pointer handy. Just pass it to avoid an ENV_GET_CPU() from core code (in exec.c). 2015-07-09cpu: Add Error argument to cpu_exec_init()Bharata B Rao1-1/+1
Add an Error argument to cpu_exec_init() to let users collect the error. This is in preparation to change the CPU enumeration logic in cpu_exec_init(). With the new enumeration logic, cpu_exec_init() can fail if cpu_index values corresponding to max_cpus have already been handed out. Since all current callers of cpu_exec_init() are from instance_init, use error_abort Error argument to abort in case of an error. 2014-10-06gdbstub: Allow target CPUs to specify watchpoint STOP_BEFORE_ACCESS flagPeter Maydell1-0/+1
GDB assumes that watchpoint set via the gdbstub remote protocol will behave in the same way as hardware watchpoints for the target. In particular, whether the CPU stops with the PC before or after the insn which triggers the watchpoint is target dependent. Allow guest CPU code to specify which behaviour to use. This fixes a bug where with guest CPUs which stop before the accessing insn GDB would manually step forward over what it thought was the insn and end up one insn further forward than it should be. We set this flag for the CPU architectures which set gdbarch_have_nonsteppable_watchpoint in gdb 7.7: ARM, CRIS, LM32, MIPS and Xtensa. 2013-07-29cpu: Partially revert "cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUState"Andreas Färber1-0/+2
Commit c643bed99 moved qemu_init_vcpu() calls to common CPUState code. This causes x86 cpu-add to fail with "KVM: setting VAPIC address failed". The reason for the failure is that CPUClass::kvm_fd is not yet initialized in the following call graph: ->x86_cpu_realizefn ->x86_cpu_apic_realize ->qdev_init ->device_set_realized ->device_reset (hotplugged == 1) ->apic_reset_common ->vapic_base_update ->kvm_apic_vapic_base_update This causes attempted KVM vCPU ioctls to fail. By contrast, in the non-hotplug case the APIC is reset much later, when the vCPU is already initialized. As a quick and safe solution, move the qemu_init_vcpu() call back into the targets' realize functions. 2013-07-27cpu: Introduce CPUClass::gdb_{read,write}_register()Andreas Färber1-0/+2

2013-07-26cpu: Introduce CPUState::gdb_num_regs and CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regsAndreas Färber1-0/+3
CPUState::gdb_num_regs replaces num_g_regs. CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regs replaces NUM_CORE_REGS. Allows building gdb_register_coprocessor() for xtensa, too. As a side effect this should fix coprocessor register numbering for SMP. 2013-07-26target-xtensa: Introduce XtensaCPU subclassesAndreas Färber1-1/+23
Register a CPU type per core registered. Save the XtensaConfig in XtensaCPUClass and copy it from there to CPUXtensaState, to avoid touching every env->config access for now. Prepares for storing per-class GDB register count. Acked-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-07-23cpu: Turn cpu_get_phys_page_debug() into a CPUClass hookAndreas Färber1-0/+3
Change breakpoint_invalidate() argument to CPUState alongside. Since all targets now assign a softmmu-only field, we can drop helpers cpu_class_set_{do_unassigned_access,vmsd}() and device_class_set_vmsd(). Prepares for changing cpu_memory_rw_debug() argument to CPUState. Acked-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com> (for xtensa) Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-07-23cpu: Introduce CPUClass::set_pc() for gdb_set_cpu_pc()Andreas Färber1-0/+8

2013-06-28cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUStateAndreas Färber1-3/+0

2013-03-12cpu: Replace do_interrupt() by CPUClass::do_interrupt methodAndreas Färber1-0/+1
This removes a global per-target function and thus takes us one step closer to compiling multiple targets into one executable. It will also allow to override the interrupt handling for certain CPU families. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-16cpu: Add CPUArchState pointer to CPUStateAndreas Färber1-0/+2
The target-specific ENV_GET_CPU() macros have allowed us to navigate from CPUArchState to CPUState. The reverse direction was not supported. Avoid introducing CPU_GET_ENV() macros by initializing an untyped pointer that is initialized in derived instance_init functions. The field may not be called "env" due to it being poisoned. 2013-02-16target-xtensa: Move TCG initialization to XtensaCPU initfnAndreas Färber1-0/+7
Combine this with breakpoint handler registration, guarding both with tcg_enabled() to suppress also TCG init for qtest. Rename the handler to xtensa_breakpoint_handler() since it needs to become global. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-16target-xtensa: Introduce QOM realizefn for XtensaCPUAndreas Färber1-0/+13

2013-02-01target-xtensa: Mark as unmigratableAndreas Färber1-0/+9
There was no CPU_SAVE_VERSION defined, so neither "cpu_common" VMState nor cpu_{save,load}() were registered. Their implementation was no-op. Therefore there is no backwards compatibility to keep, so mark XtensaCPU as unmigratable at device level.
