2018-04-26serial-isa: Use MAX_ISA_SERIAL_PORTS instead of MAX_SERIAL_PORTSPeter Maydell1-1/+1
The ISA serial port handling in serial-isa.c imposes a limit of 4 serial ports. This is because we only know of 4 IO port and IRQ settings for them, and is unrelated to the generic MAX_SERIAL_PORTS limit, though they happen to both be set at 4 currently. Use a new MAX_ISA_SERIAL_PORTS wherever that is the correct limit to be checking against. The global hack for creating SCSI devices has recently been removed, but this apparently broke SCSI devices on some boards that were not ready for this change yet. For the pica61 machine you now get: $ mips64-softmmu/qemu-system-mips64 -M pica61 -cdrom x.iso qemu-system-mips64: -cdrom x.iso: machine type does not support if=scsi,bus=0,unit=2 Fix it by calling scsi_bus_legacy_handle_cmdline() after creating the corresponding SCSI controller. 2017-12-05pci: Rename root bus initialization functions for clarityDavid Gibson1-6/+6
pci_bus_init(), pci_bus_new_inplace(), pci_bus_new() and pci_register_bus() are misleadingly named. They're not used for initializing *any* PCI bus, but only for a root PCI bus. Non-root buses - i.e. ones under a logical PCI to PCI bridge - are instead created with a direct qbus_create_inplace() (see pci_bridge_initfn()). Add INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE to all direct subtypes of TYPE_PCI_DEVICE, except: 1) The ones that already have INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE set: * base-xhci * e1000e * nvme * pvscsi * vfio-pci * virtio-pci * vmxnet3 2) base-pci-bridge Not all PCI bridges are Conventional PCI devices, so INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE is added only to the subtypes that are actually Conventional PCI: * dec-21154-p2p-bridge * i82801b11-bridge * pbm-bridge * pci-bridge The direct subtypes of base-pci-bridge not touched by this patch are: * xilinx-pcie-root: Already marked as PCIe-only. * pcie-pci-bridge: Already marked as PCIe-only. * pcie-port: all non-abstract subtypes of pcie-port are already marked as PCIe-only devices. 3) megasas-base Not all megasas devices are Conventional PCI devices, so the interface names are added to the subclasses registered by megasas_register_types(), according to information in the megasas_devices[] array. "megasas-gen2" already implements INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE, so add INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE only to "megasas". Almost every user of cpu_generic_init() checks for returned NULL and then reports failure in a custom way and aborts process. Some users assume that call can't fail and don't check for failure, though they should have checked for it. In either cases cpu_generic_init() failure is fatal, so instead of checking for failure and reporting it various ways, make cpu_generic_init() report errors in consistent way and terminate QEMU on failure. 2017-08-02mips: Add KVM T&E segment support for TCGJames Hogan2-10/+19
MIPS KVM trap & emulate guest kernels have a different segment layout compared with traditional MIPS kernels, to allow both the user and kernel code to run from the user address segment without repeatedly trapping to KVM. QEMU currently supports this layout only for KVM, but its sometimes useful to be able to run these kernels in QEMU on a PC, so enable it for TCG too. This also paves the way for MIPS KVM VZ support (which uses the normal virtual memory layout) by abstracting whether user mode kernel segments are in use. 2017-08-02mips/malta: leave space for the bootmap after the initrdAurelien Jarno1-1/+4
Since commit 9768e2abf7 the initrd is loaded at the end of the low memory to avoid clash for the kernel relocation when kaslr is used. However this in turn conflicts with the bootmap memory that the kernel tries to place after initrd, but in low memory. The bootmap spans the whole usable physical address space. The machine can have at most 2GiB of memory, 256MiB of low memory mapped at 0x00000000, and 1792MiB of high memory mapped at 0x90000000. The biggest bootmap therefore corresponds to the adresses 0x00000000 -> 0xffffffff, which at 1 bit per 4kiB page corresponds to 128kiB in memory. Therefore reserve 128kiB after the initrd. 2017-07-14memory/iommu: QOM'fy IOMMU MemoryRegionAlexey Kardashevskiy1-1/+1
This defines new QOM object - IOMMUMemoryRegion - with MemoryRegion as a parent. This moves IOMMU-related fields from MR to IOMMU MR. However to avoid dymanic QOM casting in fast path (address_space_translate, etc), this adds an @is_iommu boolean flag to MR and provides new helper to do simple cast to IOMMU MR - memory_region_get_iommu. The flag is set in the instance init callback. This defines memory_region_is_iommu as memory_region_get_iommu()!=NULL. This switches MemoryRegion to IOMMUMemoryRegion in most places except the ones where MemoryRegion may be an alias. Time to wire up all the call sites that request a shutdown or reset to use the enum added in the previous patch. It would have been less churn to keep the common case with no arguments as meaning guest-triggered, and only modified the host-triggered code paths, via a wrapper function, but then we'd still have to audit that I didn't miss any host-triggered spots; changing the signature forces us to double-check that I correctly categorized all callers. Since command line options can change whether a guest reset request causes an actual reset vs. a shutdown, it's easy to also add the information to reset requests.
